I have a passion for building readers for life by helping students to unlock the reading code. This passion has led me on my own amazing educational journey.
I started my career in 2006 as a classroom teacher after receiving my B.A. and Teaching Certificate from Sonoma State University in California. It didn’t take many years in the classroom for me to return to school for my Masters in Reading and Language so I could better understand and support my students.
In 2014 I moved to Central Oregon and transitioned into an Elementary Reading Specialist position, where I’ve been ever since.
I am continually learning and improving my practice to best support students. I’ve been tutoring since 2021 and OG trained through IMSE (as of June 2024).
I love all the outdoor activities Central Oregon has to offer. In my free time you can find me hiking, mountain biking, or camping with my husband and dog.
