My love for teaching reading began when my second daughter was still struggling to learn to read at age seven. Watching her journey inspired me to learn everything I could about how children learn to read and how to support those who need a different path to literacy.

Seeing students discover confidence in themselves as readers has become one of the greatest joys of my work.I have worked in elementary education for more than 20 years in a variety of roles and am certified at the Associate Level through the Orton-Gillingham Academy (A/OGA).

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with students with a wide range of learning profiles. I especially enjoy working with students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences because every child learns differently, and I love figuring out what helps each one succeed.

Meeting each child where they are and celebrating every step of their growth is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

My husband and I have been married for 26 years and have four wonderful children. Outside of teaching, I collect different editions of the Clue board game, love Highland cows, and enjoyplaying the ukulele. I look forward to meeting your family and helping your child become a confident, capable reader.
