I completed my undergraduate degree at Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and hold a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University. I also obtained a ZA, or Early Childhood Endorsement.
My passion for teaching literacy led me to become a RCS Professional Development Literacy Instructor. I continued my love for teaching reading and writing by becoming a Teacher Lab for Literacy Host and Facilitator. I have attended several literacy conferences including the Annual Michigan Reading Association Conference, Recognizing and Supporting Autism Students and the MSU Special Education Conferences. I also traveled to New York to attend literacy conferences hosted by Columbia University’s Teacher College, which is at the forefront of literacy instruction. I am Level 1 trained through the Orton Gillingham Online Academy. My passion continues to be working with students and giving each the tools to unlock words on the journey to become confident readers who love to dive into a good book!
I have been living in Central Oregon since 2016 and have been exploring the area ever since! Beyond reading, I love to hike, ski and taste test all the amazing food CO has to offer.
